The largest gathering of health economists and experts in health financing within Africa is the African Health Economics and Policy Association (AfHEA) conference. This biennial event brings together professionals from across the continent to discuss health financing, policy, and economic strategies
The African Health Economics and Policy Association (AfHEA) aims to contribute to the promotion and strengthening of health economics and policy analysis in Africa. This mission focuses on achieving efficient health systems that improve health outcomes, particularly for vulnerable populations.
Better and equitable health for Africans can be achieved through the development and implementation of effective health policies and the efficient use of resources. This approach ensures that health services are accessible to all, regardless of socioeconomic status, and that the most vulnerable populations.
Our membership base is composed of researchers, policy makers, health professionals, academics and students, practitioners from Ministries of Health, Finance and related agencies, individuals from the INGO/NGO and community-based organizations, development partners and others with a research or policy interest in the subject areas covered by AfHEA
We provide online courses in research areas aimed at capacity building of our members, especially early-to mid-career researchers. AfHEA makes use of its experience and technical knowledge to craft courses that address our learners most desired learning goals in their various fields.
