Hiring: Health Economics Consultants – with appreciable experience in the economics of vaccines
Duty Station/Location: Southern Africa (Botswana, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zimbabwe); West Africa (Nigeria and Ghana); East Africa (Rwanda); North Africa (Morocco); Central Africa (Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC Congo)).
Expected start time: September, 2023
Background: Under the ECOVA project, AfHEA is looking to hire Health Economics Consultants with appreciable experience in the economics of vaccines who will work under the leadership of the Program Officer and the supervision of the Project Coordinator.
Requirements:
Master’s degree in health economics, public health, public financing/financial management, economics and related fields.
Minimum of 5-7 years working on health financing and/or public financial management in Africa and beyond
Note: This is the minimum required and not the maximum that a candidate is expected to have.
Desired Skills and Experiences
- Proven ability to advance research projects independently and have a great work capacity, and have commitment and enthusiasm for communication of research findings
- Ability to translate highly technical information into presentations, policy briefs, reports for a range of audiences.
- In-depth understanding and record of peer-reviewed publications and policy briefs in line with respective areas of the discipline.
- Familiar with existing Africa health system policies and strategies;
- Good writing skills, evidence in peer review and other publications.
