The 4th Biennial Scientific Conference of the African Health Economics & Policy Association (AfHEA) scheduled!

Theme: The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Grand Convergence and Health in Africa

Dates: September 26-29, 2016
Location: Rabat, Morocco

The African Health Economics & Policy Association (AfHEA) is pleased to announce its upcoming 4th biennial Scientific Conference. The conference, which we had originally hoped to hold in Johannesburg, is now scheduled to be held in Rabat, Morocco, from 26th to 29th September 2016. AfHEA is still committed to holding a conference in the southern African sub-region as soon as practicable, but we realize for now that is going to take a while to organize.

The next conference will therefore be held in Rabat, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health of Morocco, the Maghreb Network of Health Economics and Health Systems (RESSMA), and the Moroccan National School of Public Health (ENSP), and will bring together researchers, policy makers, practitioners, students and experts in African health economics and policy.

The broad theme of the 2016 conference is “The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the Grand Convergence and Health in Africa” and will look at the alignment of the SDGs and the ‘Grand Convergence’ with health goals and priorities of African countries, and critically analyze the opportunities and challenges facing their implementation, including the unfinished agenda of the MDGs.

More information about the conference venue, submission of abstracts, fees, and registration will follow shortly.

Please stay tuned on the AfHEA website at www.afhea.org for further details about the next conference.
